...it tends to keep raining. My last month has been such
a rollercoaster that I can't really bring myself to go into
everything that's happened. The highlights?
1. Got a cool sticker from Krazy Ken of the Computer Clan
YouTube channel before it's available.
2. My MacBook Pro broke while I was trying to make proper
repairs. The display hinge area melted, and cables broke
underneath the cover.
3. I have another mid-2009 MacBook Pro coming in tomorrow,
along with a new SSD to replace the aging one from the
old one (Which I'm booting off of right now on my iMac).
4. I've discovered I can't eat "non-human mammalian meat"
due to a tick-induced allergy. It's mild compared to the
full-force version of the allergy, but still not good.
5. My adapter for my external monitor broke, so I had to
order another one. It's coming in tomorrow as well.
6. In addition to being dragonkin, I've discovered I might
have a slight therian side to me that I'm trying to work
out. Having thoughts of identity changes 20 years after
figuring myself out is an /experience/, to be sure. [^0]
7. My partner sold his barely-working truck to our neighbor
across the street, and they got it back in working order
in a pretty short time.
8. I've almost gone through all my belongings from storage,
and we've managed to clear out a large amount of the
garage and shed.
That brings me to number 9, and the currently ongoing
insanity of what's happening with my home. See, when my
uncle passed, there was no will. We were freaking out about
it, until I figured out it was sold as a "joint tenancy
with survivorship". My other uncle and I owned the house,
and it couldn't be touched. We fought pretty hard to make
sure we'd still have it.
Saturday, I received a letter from a lawyer stating that
my uncle wants to "convert his interest into cash", meaning
I have to buy his share of the house, or in "10 days from
the date of the letter" (which was Thursday, the 11th),
they would start the process of a partition lawsuit to sell
the property. This came out of nowhere, as I hadn't talked
with said uncle for more than a month.
Needless to say, I've been trying to get in touch, as the
letter actually tells me to do. He has't responded to texts
or answered any of my calls. I can't even get in touch with
his daughter to see if she can ask what's going on. I'm
legit panicking a bit, but I'm going to keep trying, and I
plan on looking at all of my options going into it.
If I'm told to contact him about it, and he won't talk to
me, that's not going to look good for him. I'm more than
happy to buy his share if I can. I wanna keep the house in
the family. I just don't get why I'm being ghosted if I was
given the option to go that route. It's extremely out of
character for him--for my cousin as well--to be like this.
At the same time, I'm working on a /bug-out/ contingency
if it comes down to that. I don't want to think about it,
but it's becoming a possibility.
So much for that needed break...or the mental energy to
try and work on my language skills.
