I lost my cool today. Video issues made me dump Linux on the Dell Latitude
I had Debian on, and put Windows 7 back onto it as just a gaming laptop. I'm
not giving up on Linux, but on that particular hardware, it's just not a
problem I can really solve with satisfaction. As such, I'm doing things in my
Debian VM on my MacBook Pro for figuring out my future workflow, and looking
forward to getting a used/cheap Raspberry Pi in the future where I know the
hardware solidly works with the OS.

In the process, I ended up brute-forcing a stripped screw out of my MBP to
replace the battery with a new one I'd gotten a while back. Tri-lobe screws are
a pain, but I do what I can with what I have. Plus, I wanna keep using the MBP
for as long as I can as my daily driver, instead of having to just keep buying
more crap I don't care about.

The Raspberry Pi is going to be something that I can actually screw around
with as part of a solar-powered system for a Linux transition. I honestly don't
like using my beefy gaming rig unless I need to, and right now, it's mostly
sitting idle with only a Debian VM acting as a home server for a ZNC bouncer
and internal dev/testing web server. I mean, I have an RPi0W that's not being
used[0], but I'd have to pull out a microSD card for it, or buy a new one[1].
Otherwise, I'd be using /that/ for the home server, and the gaming rig would
only be an HTPC/gaming "console" thing.

I still need to finish transferring some data over to the MacBook again, but
that's for later. For now, I'm just going to relax with screwing around with my
MacBook's Debian VM for a while, just to relax a bit. Like I said, not dumping
Linux, just waiting to run it on bare metal with better supported hardware.

Also, over the course of the day, before I finished writing this, I managed
to injure my right thumb, on top of the foot injury I'm still recovering from.
2025 most certainly is getting off to a "great" start.

[0]: The previous microSD card I had in it literally crumbled to pieces from
something falling on the poor thing.
[1]: Admittedly, I have a spare 64GB microSD card for backups, but I'm not sure
if I wanna use it for that, or just wait to get a 128GB card later.
