Title: Figuring Things Out

I'm currently lying on my bed, legs propped up to help me recover from what
turned out to be a foot ulcer. I'm staying off of it, but that also means I'm
getting proper downtime right now. And now that I'm back on my Linux laptop,
I'm still trying to work out a proper workflow for my writing, especially for
a replacement for Scrivener's functionality. `vim`, with NERDTree[0] and
vimwiki[1] plugins, has gotten the closest to my needs, though not quite all
the way there.
I'm gonna be using Markdown for the core writing format, and `pandoc` to turn
the Markdown files into other formats (namely PDF and ePub), so that isn't a
problem I need to solve. The main problems I need to solve are learning how to
properly set up the metadata in the Markdown files for exporting to those file
formats, and adding cover images for the ePubs is the highest priority on my
list of things to do. I mean, it's probably easy and I'm overthinking things,
but lack of proper sleep makes the brain go a bit foggy when trying to
understand documentation.
I also need to figure out proper backups, but that'll come once workflow is
figured out, since I'm not really writing anything at the moment, and my files
haven't really changed since my last backup when I plopped everything onto this
install of Debian. All the important config files are synced elsewhere anyway,
so no worries there either. Plus, I have some SD cards coming in today for
anything I don't plan on updating often, so I'm partially there.
I also need to get around to regaining my LaTeX knowledge at some point. I've
forgotten so much it hurts, and part of me wants to go back to using it again.
But that's for future me to worry about. For now, I just need to get back into
the writing groove in general.
And now, I disappear once again to heal up and rest. I very much need it.
