 So... I've been getting used to the changes of hell in my workflow.

1. Moving to VIM for my main writing tool, including LaTeX-suite for story and
book writing. Yes, I'm a fan of LaTeX (insert "typical furry" joke here), even
when it frustrates me. Enough that I ordered both the first and second editions
of Leslie Lamport's own "LaTeX: A Document Preparation System". I'm just not
sure which is more difficult to learn: LaTeX, or VIM itself.

2. Relearning `mutt` for email. It's admittedly been *way* too long since I
even tried using mutt, and it's gonna be some time before I get it working the
way I want it. At least I have access to my Outlook email, *and* my password
is encrypted on-disk, *and* I can use modern GPG with it. That's a big boon for
me.

3. Using `newsboat` for RSS has proven to be quite a bit easier. I still like
Thunderbird, but having it on the terminal makes it easier to back up all of
my config files and such.

4. `tmux` has reminded me of just how long it took to make my long-lost conf
file, and I fear I'm going to have to do it again. Why is it long-lost? Because
I deleted the Github account it was on, and lost the backups.

5. Using `todo.txt`[0] has really helped me keep track of what I need to do,
and having a gnome-shell extension to keep my todo list in my menubar has given
me a much easier time with accessing it.

6. Still need to set up `mpd` and `ncmpc`, but with how crash-happy Rhythmbox
and gnome-music have been, it'll be nice to have access to it, *and* I can use
it as a Shoutcast stream for my other systems in-house. Also need to set up
Libre.fm scrobbling.

7. I'm /attempting/ to learn Python3. Slowly. Very slowly. Why? Part of it is
wanting to, part of it is `autokey`. I used TextExpander, and autokey is
pretty much exactly what I needed to replace it.

8. Using `git` for versioning is high on my list, but I'm gonna have to
automate making commits just so I'm not forgetting while I'm in the middle of
writing something. I already miss Time Machine, but I'm sure I can figure out
something just as good.

 All this and more... This is gonna be a fun month.

 Also, I'd like to mention to sysdharma[1] and rach[2] about switching to and
using Macs. To quote sysdharma:

 "Don't feel bad for switching to a Mac - use whatever makes you more
  productive and happier."

 I couldn't have said it better myself. It's called a `personal computer` for
a reason. I use Fedora now, but I encourage everyone to use what they love.
There's no shame in it.
