sitting up
january 9th, 2000

the starfish sat up for the first time today! granted it was only for a
moment, and then she toppled over, but at least she's beginning to get the
hang of the whole mystery called balance. :) both of her bottom front
teeth are in, which makes chewing on my hand quite an unpleasant
experience now. (those teeth are sharp!) christmas treated her well--a
little too well, perhaps. she was a bit overwhelmed. and she was much more
interested in the pretty bows and ribbons than the actual presents
themselves anyway. :) her sleeping schedule is highly erratic. she was
doing well, going to sleep around midnight and getting up around eight or
nine, waking up for a bite to eat somewhere inbetween. but with me
starting work, she has to get adjusted to a different schedule. plus, i
think she's just nocturnal by nature. :) she loves eating. sometimes i
have to give her two solid meals a day to keep her happy. and she'll eat
about anything. i gave her squash the other night and she loved it. :P
variety in foods makes for a healthy baby, though. she loves playing with
her feet now. when she's barefoot she'll pull her feet up to her mouth and
suck on her toes. of course, she pretty much loves anything she can get
into her mouth. :)
