I think I want to setup a node on the amprnet. I would like to use my ip
allocation. I don't know yet what service to provide. Maybe I should set
out with an initial design. That would force me to find answers.
Perhaps I can document the journey in a reproducible tutorial.
The category 4 hurricane with 150 mph winds that hit New Orleans is
heading to Virginia. Sunday night one of my 75' dead trees tipped over
onto a perfectly healthy pine tree. That kept it from hitting our house.
So I had Treelife come out with a crane from Fairfax crane. They picked
the 5,000 lb tree up out of it's snag and laid it gently down in the yard.
I won't ever have to worry about that tree again. In fact, I expect we'll
get some heat out of it in a year or two.
