Stayed up obnoxiously late today doing some things. Worked on some
leetcode problems, just some mediums. A couple of them were dead easy,
others of them got me a bit frustrated.

Played some Valorant with friends and man, 7 matches in a single day
is not it. I previously came to the realization that my perfect number
of ranked matches in a single day is 3, before my performance starts
to take a hit. By the end of my binge, my mental state also a took a
decent hit. I can't believe the extent to which this game can make my
brain want to jump off a cliff.

In other news, I restarted work on my self-study project from my
sophomore year of university called 'PanChat' (Pandemic Chat).
I previously tried implementing my vision of this in C++, and soon
discovered how irritating C++ development can be. However, this
attempt at implementing PanChat will be in Rust. So I won't have to
worry about trying to get potentially ancient audio I/O libraries to
play nice.

Really want to go to bed, but I'm in the process of wiping and
resetting an old laptop of mine. A friend of my mothers' is in dire
financial straits and would like to get a laptop for their son to do
schoolwork on. I haven't seriously used this laptop in over a year so
I don't really mind.

BUT... this laptop holds a certain sentimental value to me. This dingy
little surface laptop 2 is the first piece of serious computing
hardware that I purchase on my own dime in Highschool. This laptop
has been through multiple of my character arcs as my partner in crime.
Despite that, I definitely will not miss the impossible-to-clean
alcantara that's all around the keyboard.

The surface will be survived by the considerably cheaper refurbished
Latitude 7280 I bought in my sophomore year of university. I'll miss
this laptop, but like all computers, they're meant to be used. So I
will part ways with the fellow today.

And hopefully get some shuteye soon as well.
