More Rain 2023-12-30

Ughhh... the rain. It never stops!
I know Cornwall is wet, and I spent the first 20 years of my life
enduring the drizzle here... but could it stop for a bit now? I'd like
some cold and crisp winter days. Good for walking along the coast.
Good for a bike ride with the children.
We had a nice visit to St Mawes castle yesterday, and a walk to the
harbour. Then, the rain got us on the way back to the car. Cue both
kids spending the drive home complaining about being living instead of
in Texas, on mostly weather related grounds. I might agree with them
that the Texas sun is good, and the excessive summer heat might just
be easier to overlook than endless weeks of soggy days.
It has been a very mild winter so far... which of course lends itself
to unsettled windy, rainy weather patterns. Doesn't help that I'm
still getting over a cough, and so don't want to stand around in damp
clothes.
Can we have some frost, to kill the bugs, and some sunshine to start
2024... please??!!
