Rain                                                         2023-04-23
=======================================================================

A rainy weekend after a dry week, but it wasn't a write-off for
getting out and about. When you come back to Cornwall, from rather
sunnier climes, it takes time to get used to the weather.  Over winter
and into spring it feels like it rains all the time... but it doesn't
really.

The biggest challenge is how unpredictable the rain is here. In Dallas
the rain generally arrives in sharp, defined front. Lots of big, big
storms you don't want to get caught out in, but it's quite easy to
work around them. In Cornwall the weather forecast isn't that useful.
Many pleasant mornings or afternoons would be missed if you decided to
stay in because of whatever the Met Office said last night.

Anyway, the rain we had this morning looked like it was easing by
about 1pm, so we headed to Caerhays Castle to look around the
gardens, and have a quick walk on Porthluney beach. The Magnolia
flowers have now passed but lots of colour still to see. We even had
some blue sky for a bit :-)
