New Beginnings
----------------

im starting my not set in stone "new years resolution" early
i want to stray away from the modern web as much as i can

the first step was getting away from proprietary code forges, which was very
much a breaking point decision more than anything. FOSS software on places like
GitHub just have the most unwelcoming and uninviting community. every
contribution i tried to make towards a projects was either not up to snuff/their
standards or a duplicate. i had a lot of my projects on GitLab, but it has been
just a spiraling trainwreck with them for the last couple months. ive moved
repos i care about to Gitdab, a Gitea instance ran by elixi.re/LavaTech (one of
the friend groups i'm apart of). i was using Gitdab just to mirror repos
relating to piracy, leaks, etc, but its a functioning Gitea instance
nonetheless. anything that relies on CI (continuous integration) or GitLab Pages
is staying on GitLab for the foreseeable future. CI with Gitea is a mess as you
end up having to host it as a separate service.

the second step is trying out gopher, which i've been wanting to do for a while.
as you can tell by reading this, here i am. i'll mostly be posting my tracklists
for my aNONradio show and random phlogs like this if i ever want to write about
something.

i'm still going to be using Discord, just because i can't convince a lot of
people to move off of it. i'm not going to be abbrasive and end friendships
over it, like i've seen from a lot of Matrix users in the past. plus the main
community i hang out in has bridges for IRC and Telegram, so i can just stop
using Discord whenever personally, even if its for a short period of time.

"apologies" in advance if my phlogs end up being too rambly or go on tangents
