Yesterday (August 22nd 2020) I tookk the end of the afternoon to watch a movie
about the spanish civil war. A light movie though, since it is still summer
after all, so I watched Belle Epoque (1992).

As far as movies about the spanish civil war, it is not really about the war at
all, as the war is just in the background. It seems to be set at around the
time where the republicans seemed like they were going to win the war, and
being a commedy, set in a war scenario, I could only identify two more shocking
moments in the movie that made me think about the cost of war.

Aside from those moments (which I will not discuss to avoid spoiling) the movie
is mostly a comedic take on the differing social values of the conservative
monarchists and the liberal republicans.

I enjoyed it :)
