Welcome to my Gopherthing! This site is both a phlog and a set of notes to
myself concerning copyediting, TeX, Unix, command-line tools, and other things.

For many years, I was an ordinary user of computers, familiar with the most
superfical aspects of OS X and Microsoft Windows as needed in an nontech office
environment. Around 2016, this started to change, though. The ``Terminal''
application beckoned---and I haven't looked back.

What follows are a collection of writings related to my computational
