- Spare ribs
- Small onion
- Canola oil
- 1 can sauerkraut
- 1/2 apple, sliced thinly
- 1/2 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- Pinch garlic powder
- Ground pepper to taste
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 potato
Preparation:
- Put small canola oil in 3" baking pan to fit ribs
- Brown ribs in pan on stove
- Remove ribs and add chopped onions and saute until translucent
- In a bowl, mix sauerkraut with remaining ingredients
- Add mixture to pan with onions
- Place ribs on top of mixture and place some in between
- Add one potato (diced small) and place around pan
- Add broth and bring to boil on stovetop
- Cover and bring heat down to simmer
- Check occasionally, shake pan, add a bit more broth
if evaporated.
- Cook for 1.5 hours
