201009 - Introduction
=====================

I've decided to start phlogging here now that I have set up my very own gopherhole. So I think it would be fitting to introduce myself a little.

I'm John, a recently graduated graphic designer from Sweden, currently freelancing and trying to figure out how to go on from here. I've mostly worked with typography and print design during my years of education, but recently I've become more and more interested in the web and online communication/cyberculture.

My first big project in this field was my, still ongoing, graduation project, called 'Sunday Sites' (or sometimes 'SuSi' in my notes app). The project consists of virtual coding sessions (held on Sundays) where the participants and I, guided by a specific instruction, write HTML and CSS for two hours while listening to good music and chit-chatting sporadically. When we're done, we present our creations and talk a little about how we made them. All the sites can then be seen on the project website, https://sundaysites.cafe

While working on Sunday Sites, I read a lot, surfed a lot and thought a lot about what websites could be and how beautiful the web is in its purest form. I'm sure I'm going to come back to this topic a lot in future entries, so stay tuned if that sounds interesting!
