One of the big pandemic fads was buying an air fryer or buying an
instant pot. I happened to buy both and I kind of wanted to talk
about which one of them you should actually get.

I've used both fairly extensively and I have to say that I'm getting
a lot more use out of the air fryer. I feel that the air fryer is
just more versatile for most americans. When you look at the type
of diet most americans have the air fryer fits in better. Americans
love to eat a lot of processed fried food like chicken nuggets and
fried fish. The air fryer makes that extremely easy to prepare. It
also allows you to take home fried food like fried chicken that
you might otherwise not keep as leftovers.

Another big part of the American diet is potatoes and the air fryer
is great at making fries and tater tots or even potato skins and
other foods like that.

Of course every food I just mentioned is incredibly unhealthy but
hey, that's the average american diet. Fortunately, the air fryer
is great at making healthy foods as well.  In particular, roasting
vegetables is great in the air fryer. Asparagus, long green beans,
zuchinni, squash, and brussel sprouts are some of the vegetables
that you can air fry really easily. Also air frying non-fried fish
like salmon and whitefish is a piece of cake too.

Of course this isn't to say that the instant pot isn't a great
kitchen tool as well. It's just that a lot of the instant pot
recipes tend to become stews or pasta or rice dishes. All of those
are good of course and I have a lot of good recipes but I feel the
air fryer is just a lot more convenient of a kitchen tool.

If you have limited kitchen space and could only choose between an
air fryer or an instant pot, I would say the air fryer is just more
versatile and should be the one to get.
