It's been so long since I've touched this thing. I will try
to post more often, but no guarantees.

Anyways, its time for the festival of Diwali in India. My
state celebrates Diwali a day later (on 21st) so I've got
an extra day to sort out my decoration situation. The
neighbours have got amazing lights going and me? a few puny
lights and candles

Let's see if I can manage to obtain some more lights.
In other things, I've gotten more into radio, mostly
shortwave. I don't have the money to go to the cities to
take out the ham radio test.

I started listening on some December night in 2024 with an
RTL-SDR. Then I found out about QSL cards and I got hooked.
Pretty soon, after some antenna changes, I got QSLs from
places like the Phillipines and from Guam (KTWR). I bought
an XHDATA D-808 radio a month or so back and I've been
getting more into the "utility" parts of the bands. Another
change is that I began learning things from those
broadcasts. Didn't think I'd learn what the glycemic index
was from China Radio International.

Today I've listened to Xizang RTV, from Tibet. With a bit
of antenna wrangling out of my window, it comes in quite
clear. Getting a QSL from them seems to be rare though.
I also found Fu-Hsing Broadcasting Station from Taiwan.
They are holding a shortwave contest where they will give
out special QSL cards and enter people in their lucky
draw, which I'm going to participate in.

About the security situation in my state, there is a
tense peace that seems very much like the calm before
a storm, with President's Rule imposed (state
government dissolved)

Oh well, it seems I rambled too much. Goodbye from a
goofball in India.
