2018-12-08 Saturday Summation

It's the end of a crazy work week for me. I haven't posted anything
here since Tuesday! The holiday season is coming and this is making
things busy at work with everyone trying to get things done before
vacations slow the pace to a crawl.

Besides work, there is all the preparations for the holidays. I have a
bit of vacation to finish before the end of the year so I'm taking
this upcoming Monday and the following one off. My "vacation" days
will be filled with errands but I don't really mind doing things for
the holidays.

We celebrate "MoČ™ Nicolai" near to or on December 5th/6th (as well as
standard Christmas Day/Boxing Day on December 25th and 26th). This
year "little Santa" is coming tonight. He generally brings smaller and
more practical gifts (like socks) that fit in the stockings we have up
on our fireplace. We'll all get chocolate, clementines, and candy
too. The kids love it and so do the adults.

I want to start fiddling with programming again. I have used Python in
the past and I'm quite happy with it. I would actually like to start
playing with a flavour of Lisp again. I haven't touched it since
school but I think it'll be fun. I've installed Common Lisp on my
Linux laptop and Emacs comes with it's own version of Lisp built in. I
guess we'll see how it goes.

That's all for now. I'm going to see if there's anything else that needs
doing around the shop today. Happy Saturday!
