2018-12-04 Fiddling with Tasks

The last couple days have been far too busy. One of my children had a
birthday party and we had the family over. That involved a lot of
cleaning and preparing of food. Everyone had a good time so it was
well worth it.

Work has been busy too. I had a student start with me this week so
I've been working with her on aspects of our application she needs to
know. I have data requests and testing coming out my backside. In
addition, I just finished being on-call so I've been swamped. The rest
of the week will e cleaning up all the loose ends. I have a bit of
vacation to finish so I'm getting a few days off in the coming weeks
before the holidays. I am very much looking forward to it!

I mentioned a that I was looking for a nice top-down dungeon mapper. I
think I've found one. It's called DungeonFog
(https://www.dungeonfog.com/) and it seems to be quite good. I'm using
the free version but I seriously considering springing for the premium
version. The annual membership fee isn't too steep (CAD $68.90) and it
appears that my RPG group might want to help pay for it. I'm still
fiddling with Inkarnate (https://inkarnate.com/) which is good for
overland maps and I have Dungeon Builder (https://hobbyte.net/) which
lets me create isometric maps which are cool but can be a bit hard to
use for a tabletop RPG. Since I own it, I should really try to see
what I can do with it.

I guess that's all for now. Hopefully, I'll get back to a more usual
writing schedule.
