2018-10-23 Exercise and Adventure!

I was good and went to the gym yesterday. With my Dad staying at my
place and everything else going on, I had not made it to the gym for a
whole week. I *really* didn't want to go but I did. I guess I feel
better that I did it. I also track my steps. I use an app that
calculates my daily step goal based on my historical step count. The
problem is that I was walking a whole lot more at that time so I'm not
hitting my goals very often. While they adjust upwards and downwards
based on your running step average, it rarely adjusts downward much so
I keep missing the set goal. It's a bit discouraging but I try to not
worry about it too much. I should track my weight and measurements
more regularly so I will be able to see any progress I make. However,
I find it a bit of a pain in the ass to do, especially the tape
measurements. Using the scale is a bit easier but it isn't super
accurate. Perhaps I'm just making excuses to prevent myself from being
more rigorous about this weight-loss regimen.

Today, I run my latest session of Pathfinder (1st Edition...since the
2nd Edition is currently in playtest). This will be the 55th time I've
run a game for my nephew, his friends, and, now, my friends who are
the parents of these kids. We have been very slowly winding our way
through the Rise of the Runelords adventure path. This is a series of
related adventures (also known as "modules") that will take a
character from 1st level all the way to possibly 20th level, the
maximum level you can attain in this game. We're somewhere in the
middle of the second of six modules of this adventure path. Seeing as
we only manage to get everyone's schedule to align once a month at
most to play, you can get a sense of how long we've been doing
this. Still, everyone still keeps coming back so I must be doing an
okay job.

I guess that's all I have to say for today. Talk to you soon.
