A nice weekendy thing over here. Today's only saturday, but since I have thursday through saturday off of tutoring with the exception of one class, I consider it my own offset weekend. I've got to be up somewhat early tomorrow to talk to more gremlins about what a for loop is.

Since my event, it's been a nice few days. SO and I got a pack of pokemon cards and tried to paint them today. We had the winter olympics on in the background while we did so. Since the packs include many of the more recent generations, I didn't recognize either of the cards we were painting. SO's was some sort of bird, which they made a really nice background for (a purplish sky gradient with some clouds around it) and I did some sort of rock golem thing in space or something. It was fun to learn more about painting while watching the biathlon event in the background. For those who many not know, the biathlon is a sport that combines cross country skiing and rifle shooting. I'm not really big on guns, personally, but in this context it was really entertaining.

Tonight we played more Bloons TD6 with our birthday friends from my last post. Everyone got mad at me because I spent all of my money buying towers which did nothing but make me more money. I can see how that might be frustrating, but I thought it was entertaining. At one point in the game, we ran out of space to place more towers, but I wanted another banana farm (the main money-producing tower). I asked SO to remove a defensive structure so that I could put a different one there, and instead placed the banana farm on the newly freed space. Everyone got mad at me so I got rid of it.

Yesterday we went grocery shopping. I kind of thought I was going to have another event like the other day- passing out, seizing up, whatever it was. I stopped in at the restroom and managed to sit down, which I think helps somewhat. I haven't had another actual seizure since that first one, but a few times I've had pangs of a sort of "uh oh here we go" kind of feeling. They seem to be diminishing, though, so I may just survive this yet.

Watching the Olympic speed skating really made me want to go ice skating today. I looked around for local places that had free skate, and found one that was sort of unclear as to when it did, so I called up to ask. Apparently, they're too understaffed to offer it. I found this kind of strange, since you don't really need many people there to allow people out on the ice. I figure just one person to work the desk and one to cover rentals and the zamboni. I was also pretty disappointed by this, as it seemed that this was the most locally available option for inexpensive public skating. There must be other people nearby who are in a similar boat to me- skating is pretty fun! I was considering asking if they were interested in hiring part time workers on the spot and dropping the tutoring job, but I'm planning on moving soon enough that I figured it wouldn't be worth their while. I thanked them and went roller blading instead.

I should really get to sleep now. Got some gremlins tomorrow, but have a good night!
