Last week she had febrile respiratory disease, prob
RSV. Over a couple days she lost her butt and belly
fat. She slept proned on our chests, wailed if laid
abed to ease backs or rise. Despite morning rallies
baby weakened, grunted with breathing effort.
We kept her from library sensory time when sick.
Hon she came back hard, partied harder this week
than she ever has. She wore us out!
Saturday: bonfire in sponsor's yard. Celebrated my
15 years, sponsee sisters' 7 and 5 years sober with
pizza, ice cream, crew. Baby pet dogs. Enthroned on
camp chair, baby ravenously ate her first pizza
distanced from sponsee sister's infant.
Sunday after church: chili cookoff in undercroft.
On kid chair at low table she ate strawberries,
stared as kids chalked the blackboard. She'd never
seen so many in one room.
Monday: trick-or-treat, streets behind Peacemakers
Motorcycle Clubhouse, 3 blocks from us. Parents
drove kids in. Hundreds of costumed children roamed
streets, most every house spooky, adults grotesque
& happy. Our town's biggest block party.
Little lion, delighted, picked candy from offered
buckets, dropped in hers. Peacemakers raffled kid
bikes. When my lion was done, Evy & squad walked on
& baby and I returned to creepy house: red light
illuminated our mannikin's face. Candles, coyote,
elk, deer skulls ringed candy bucket. Groan, howl,
scream, chain clank, cauldron bubble, maniac laugh,
pipeorgan on 1986 Hallmark halloween sound FX tape.
Tonight: library rally for peace candidate opposing
our congressional warmonger. Platform: end war in
Ukraine (stop funding it), abolish CIA, end all
sanctions everywhere. I want him to repeal 2001
Authorization for Use of Military Force. The Quaker
retired engineer won our primary with rural vote.
He ain't perfect but'll represent us. Incumbent
reps Lockheed Martin Missles & Fire Control, TPMC,
Sikorsky Aircraft, Avon Rubber, Universal Solutions
International, Infineon Tech, Bering Straits Native
Corp. War grifters infest our congressional distr-
ict. The thousands of workers deserve good socially
useful jobs. Execs should be stripped of assets &
passports, scorned, blacklisted.
Maybe tomorrow we'll bop over to McDonald's Play-
Place after NCLEX review class. Tuckered moms can't
stop party baby!
