I helped with a skin assessment. The young teen
was bruised hips to ankles by blood relative
guardians. They put her and sibs in predicament
torture positions, verbally degraded them, beat
them with the belt when they failed.
She was bashful when she exposed her bruised
skin. Later she wrote she felt ashamed and
contemptable for telling on them.
The floodwaters are going down. My car is
covered grille to roof in a thick layer of mud.
Cows cluster on high ground. Some roads still
angle below the vast water.
Men in camo ride four-wheelers all night,
checking on people, delivering stuff.
