What's an enterprise information system?
It's a bunch of things put together to tell management how their company is doing
and what to do next, usually combined with operational information about orders,
invoices, products, contracts, inventory, customers, etc. Think charts, diagrams,
spreadsheets, data analysis, data visualization, information exchange with trading
partners, etc.
How does one automate that?
With software: tailor-made computer programs.
