nose numb from crystal flakes of colorado snow
spring brings dreams as fleeting as moments go
rapidly fading returning repeating pulsing and beating
carried on by the flow that rolls along on it's own
as confetti changes hands bringing revelations
from the maker directly to the minds of those
who would dare to eat the paper enter the chamber
revolution of cash to change through register
bar codes serial numbers automated tellers
Inflation, tax increase, devalued dollar
blind and numb confined in the belly of the beast
chained and collared to the nine to five
the busy streets trying to find the time to make ends meet.
So many slaves but where's the driver Anonymous faceless
figures carved into the totem pole of the corporate ladder
who raided our collective larder making it harder to survive
who tortured our minds so to speak keeping us weak
crippled on our knees dependent on the system serving the systems needs
will this recede shall we concede forfeit our rights
forget our freedom to cultivate the earth our home that feeds us
only ourselves can free us and in truth we are already free
if only we had ears to hear and eyes to see
