|_| |_|ello Everyone. The Greening is well under
way here in the valley of the St. Lawrence. As my
attention is captivated by the waking world I have
less and less ambition for staring at screens.
Forgive Me.
My garden is doing well though there is AMPLE time
for disaster to join the party. Just yesterday I
spied a radish whose above ground bits were
suddenly missing...
There was a delightful old rhyme from the UK that
was first recorded in the 1850s. Like most such
things it was doubtless around for a LONG time
prior to that:
One for the Mouse
One for the Crow
One to Wither
and One to Grow
The notion of course being that only a quarter of
the seeds you sew will grow into productive
plants. Don't you find that idea relevant to so
much more than horticulture? Viva Le Abstract
Scalability!
The "Big Thing" going on in Meat-Space is that my
wife and I are closing our current life chapter as
merchants. We don't buy the whole capitalism thing
anyway. It's just our 'day job'. With the future
we see - a long SEVERE and GLOBAL instability only
accelerated by COVID-19 we've opted to circle the
wagons instead of riding out the storm with our
eyes fixed on some bullshit 'new normal' on the
horizon.
We'll know on Monday if the interested party has
decided to buy our business or if we'll be setting
charges and scuttling the old scow. After that...
we plan on being able to afford one or two years
of tight belts as we choose... what...
What will we choose? I'll tell you when we get
there! I'll post soon on the changes we've made
/slash/ are making to our finances and our
lifestyle. For the moment I'll just tease you with
the statistics that we've generated only 1/2 a
trash bag of garbage in the last month and spent
only $15 US on petrol.
