Arise ye workers from your slumbers
Arise ye prisoners of want
For reason in revolt now thunders
And at last ends the age of cant.

Hello Comrades!
Actually I have nothing especially 'Red' planned
for today's entry save the hope that The Crisis
helps you rediscover your Voice, your Community &
your Class. Solidarity my friends!
Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit!
A year ago I was introduced to this old notion
that saying "Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit" aloud first
thing upon waking on the first day of the month
will ensure good luck. Wikipedia suggests it is an
English custom. Are there other folk practices
designed to bring good fortune that you find
interesting or amusing?
In the world of foraging, the dandelion is a
no-brainer. I imagine almost everyone is aware
that this weed makes a tasty salad green and a
'passable' coffee substitute. Easy to identify,
they are nourishing and healthful. Even their
Latin name 'Taraxacum officinal' loosely
translates as 'the official cure for troubles' per
Euell Gibbons. But I'd never harvested them
correctly until this year...
I stopped by YouTube the other day and The
Algorithm (Blessed Be It's Code) suggested I check
out Clara, a 98 year old lady who cooks depression
era foods like she ate as a girl. She was talking
on Dandelion salad and described her method for
harvesting it. It seems that on her way home from
work, she would use a small knife to slice below
ground and sever the whole rosette! My brain went
BOOM I tell you. I was plucking leaves and always
had a mess of loose leaves that took ages to clean
and process. Now using this method I can just
swish the entire top in a bucket and trim the end
of the taproot Easy Peasy!
