I don't hate Star Wars... at least not the pre-Disney era. I hate
Disney and what they've done to it, but I don't hate Star Wars.

I was watching some video[0] on an old web currency called Beenz and
stopped on a frame that mentioned the website in some magazine. Right
below that blurb (some Top 10 list, no doubt) was
"www.ihatestarwars.com". I thought it would be fun to see whether it
survived. It hadn't, but Archive.org did mirror[1] it. And it's just
as funny as you think it is. It gives off serious "Comcast Sucks"
vibes (I can't recall the exact URL, but it was either that or "I Hate
Comcast") that was clearly created in some WYSIWYG by a novice, but
still takes you back to a better time in WWW history. It even comes
with the old "You can't use frames? Download Netscape!" when I open it
up in Lynx. On Vivaldi, it's even worse as it's clearly intended for a
screen no larger than 800x600... if that. Granted it was 2000, so most
screens didn't get much higher in resolution.

What gets me the most is just how much the author oozes superiority
and real intellect when he can't figure out how hyphens work or what
compound words are or even how proper nouns should be capitalized.
This was in 2000, not 1940, so the language hadn't changed that much.
And if you look for it, you can find some valid criticisms, like the
release of so many different versions and the commercial frenzy.
However, most if not all of that criticism is buried in between lines
and lines of berating anyone "stupid" enough to enjoy Star Wars in
2000. This is from the same genius who made a webpage navigation scheme
based solely on pictures without alt tags...

If you have a few minutes and want to laugh at some guy yelling at
clouds (I can only imagine readers will have had the same opinion of
me at times), it's worth the visit. Or it could just be an elaborate
troll job, in which case, well done.
