So recently I've been getting worse and worse censorship by the YT AI.
I'm certainly not the only one, but it's incredibly frustrating just
how much I can't even respond. There is no rhyme or reason to what
words or phrases I'm using that are "unsuitable." I can't call someone
dumb when they're being dumb. But they can call me fking dumb. Yeah...
I'm just so sick of not being allowed to talk the way so many others
can. IDK if I was flagged too many times, thumbed down, or what. I
can't converse. It's infuriating seeing your comments disappear or get
shadowbanned: it shows up for you, but to the public, it's gone.
So I decided enough was enough. I just want to be totally done with
YT... comments, at least. I'm still using FreeTube, NewPipe, and
whatever Invidious instance (Why does yewtu.be not display video? I
have no clue. It only loads audio.). I edited my hosts file and sent
youtube.com and m.youtube.com to 0.0.0.0.
One interesting quirk is that this breaks G Photos' video player in
browsers because they wisely recycled the YT player to act as the
video player for GP. I can still download my videos and play them, but
it's a slight annoyance. It also nukes comments in FreeTube, but those
were buggy from the start and honestly it's probably better that I
can't read stupid comments since I am unable to reply to them.
