19 - Was playing checkers in the woods.

And I met up with Del the other day, for playing
checkers. We like to play outside, in places that
we remember being public parks back when that was
a thing around here. Even in the rain,
whatever. If you never tried playing board games
in the woods, you should. I thought it was a weird
idea too, until I tried it.
We do mask up to keep things safer, although we
are both pretty solitary souls these days. We all
got to be careful. Our neighborhood so far lost
one to covid this year. And we lost two to the
ogre, two more to overdose, and honestly I don't
think Ric is going to make it after the kick he
took to the head from that centaur last week. With
the covid added in, it's kind of a lot of lethal
stuff going on around here these days, when you
list it all out like that.
Pete came by too for a while (and kept distance)
to help us drink these dreadful Norville Island
Red Ales. Still wish I hadn't traded that whole
bottle of ibuprofen for this case.
Anyways, playing checkers with Del. Del always
looks like they are thinking so hard, considering
this move or that, and after all of it they
finally pick about the worst possible one. And I
just want to keep the game going, so I don't even
take advantage. Honestly, I think I don't actually
care about games, not really. I just like sitting
around outside, taking turns, and moving small
things around.
