# Season of Mists
2020-12-01
---
It is the season of mists here in the UK, November has been
a long month. The shortening of the days combined with the
return of Lockdown in England and having been hauled back to
the depressing beige Purgatory of the office has plunged my
life into darkness and I've been somewhat stuck in the
hamster wheel: eat, sleep, work repeat.
I've failed to make good use of the weekends or do any
tinkering with the Linear. My riding has been has been
restricted to pootling around some of the quieter local
lanes in the dark after work.
I'm very much a summer child and never adjust well to the
comming of winter but the lack of usual routines to give me
a kick up the arse has dropped me into a deeper funk than
usual.
On the plus side, I've made it to December which will
provide me with more opportunity to break the cycle.
Next week we're fortunate to be able to head up north where
we have use of a cottage in a small market town for the
week. We'll be allowed outside, in daylight! There'll be
opportunities to walk, ride or just light a fire and chill.
