Ron Paul Visits New Hampshire Gun Shop: Outside Riley's Gun Shop, there
are several signs supporting Republican presidential candidates, but the
largest one belongs to Ron Paul's campaign...An employee hands Paul a
357 Magnum revolver to look at and, while he's holding it, the
candidate asks him about guns. Though he's big on gun rights, Paul
admittedly isn't a big shooter himself; he says he can't remember the
last time he shot a firearm. His pro-gun supporters don't care about
that...Paul likened gun ownership to driving privileges. Drivers are
expected to be responsible behind the wheel, he says and are punished if
they're not. The same logic should be applied to guns, says Paul.

Pennsylvania Town Revises Gun Ordinance: Peters council on Monday
revised a 1976 ordinance that restricted hunting and discharging a
weapon within the township, but not before detractors and one councilman
referred to certain provisions about BB guns and slingshots as
"downright silly" and "overly intrusive." ...That ban was lifted after
angry residents and gun rights activists lobbied council for a month,
saying the ordinance was unconstitutional and illegal. It also drew
attention to shortcomings in the 1976 law. The gun ban was prompted
after a resident carried a handgun into a heated zoning hearing board
meeting this summer. Although the resident didn't brandish or threaten
to use the weapon, a board member felt intimidated when he spotted the
gun, which the resident had a permit to carry.

Oops, Wrong Boyfriend: ...A 28-year-old woman allegedly pulled a handgun
and shot Melissa Wilkins, 35, in the leg after the two got into a
scuffle over a boyfriend in front of the Stitch Factory kiosk near the
Victoria's Secret and Foot Locker stores, said Tuscaloosa Police Chief
Ken Swindle and several witnesses...Wilkins, who was with her
19-year-old daughter - whom police did not identify - allegedly pulled a
knife on the other woman, and the woman, in turn, pulled the handgun and
fired, Swindle said. Swindle said the woman, who moved here from
Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina, had a permit for the gun and told
police that Wilkins was trying to pick a fight with her. Wilkins'
daughter sustained a scrape to the head during the altercation but was
not taken to the hospital.

356 - New Weapon Of Choice For Drug Dealers?: City (Kingston NY) police
this year have confiscated nearly twice the number of illegal guns they
took off the streets in 2006, according to Police Chief Gerald
Keller...All of the guns confiscated this year are illegal handguns.
They include 9mm and .40-, .356- and .380-caliber handguns - weapons of
choice for drug dealers and others seeking easy concealment, Keller
said. (Amazing - I hadn't heard anything about the .356 TSW in years and
thought it was dead in the water.)
