Cleveland Mayor All Wet On Anti-Gun Proposal: A proposal by anti-gun
Cleveland, OH Mayor Frank Jackson to make firearm possession illegal by
anyone under age 21 is a non-solution to a genuine problem of violent
crime, and like all gun control laws, it targets the wrong people, the
Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.

New Jersey Blames Pennsylvania For Violent Crime: When detectives trace
the guns used in crimes in New Jersey, the trail often leads across the
Delaware River into Pennsylvania. Of guns brought to New Jersey that
turn up at crime scenes, far more are purchased in Pennsylvania than in
any other state, according to the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,
Firearms and Explosives. And a group of New Jersey prosecutors who will
meet today near the Free Bridge linking Easton and Phillipsburg wants to
stop the flow across the border.

More On Teacher's Struggle To Carry At Work: A Medford high school
teacher is arguing she has the right to carry a concealed semiautomatic
pistol to her classes to protect herself from a violent ex-husband in a
case certain to set off alarm bells in schools across the state...There
is no appellate law in Oregon that would cover this situation. Under
Oregon law, people with concealed handgun licenses can carry guns into
public buildings.

Which Side Are You On, Boy?: Commenting on the Heller case, James J.
Kilpatrick makes some good historical points but seems to feel that DC
should maintain a high level of restriction on firearms while accepting

Celebrate Freedom, Become A Rifleman: ...Tuesday, September 11, 2007, I
celebrated freedom in the best way possible. I bought a gun. It's not
just any gun. It is the gun. I bought an M1A. A Springfield Armory M1A,
a .308 caliber rifle. A rifle that shoots a bullet that has more energy
after the bullet flies 300 yards than an M16/AR-15 has at its muzzle.

Who Are The Gunrunners?: Three high-ranking Mexican police officers were
arrested on allegations of buying weapons and ammunition at a gun show
in Phoenix in violation of a law barring noncitizens from purchasing
firearms, a U.S. official said Wednesday. The three had crossed the
border at Calexico, Calif., in an official police vehicle and driven to
Phoenix, said Tom Mangan, a spokesman with the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Police and federal agents arrested
them after the three bought three guns and about 450 rounds of
ammunition Saturday at the gun show, Mangan said.

From GOA: The Senate could bring up the Veterans Disarmament Bill at
any time, as a result of its passage in the Judiciary Committee a few
weeks ago. The bill - introduced by F-rated Rep. Carolyn McCarthy and
Sen. Patrick Leahy - is ready to come to the floor. Gun Owners of
America delivered draft amendments to every Senate office yesterday,
providing important changes that must be made to the bill. Among others,
the most important amendment would make it clear that veterans suffering
from PTSD are NOT prohibited persons, and thus, are not to be denied the
ability to purchase a firearm simply because of emotional problems
resulting from their service to this country.
