Missouri Supports RKBA: According to a recently published State of
Missouri Governor's press release, the state of Missouri is continuing
to stand behind the belief in the second amendment and legal right which
allows residents to defend themselves and their families in case of a
home invasion or an attack. Due to this, the Missouri legislation today
asked Governor Matt Blunt to address the issue in his January State of
the State Address and remind residents of their right.

NYPD Reduces Number Of Carry Permits: The number of New Yorkers who may
carry pistols legally dropped this year, while permits issued to allow
people to keep pistols in their home increased, according to police
statistics. (With dubious legal basis, NYPD issues handgun permits in
three categories: target, premises and unrestricted; only the latter
allows CCW.)

Donald Trump, Jr., Has Premises Permit: Daddy got his gun - now Junior's
got one, too. Donald Trump Jr. joined his famous father among the ranks
of pistol packers this year after the NYPD issued him a permit to keep a
handgun at his home.

Pennsylvania Governor Proceeds With Gun-Sale Suspension: Gov. Ed Rendell
said Tuesday that the state will go ahead with a computer upgrade that
will force a three-day suspension of gun sales next week. His decision
angered many gun dealers and representatives of sportsmen's clubs.
Dealers have said they counted on Labor Day week as a springboard for
strong fall hunting season sales. Sportsmen's group representatives
called the decision a dismissal of the hunting community.

Time For New Orleans To Return Or Replace Confiscated Firearms: ...After
the Second Amendment Foundation successfully halted the gun seizures in
a federal lawsuit, the city undertook a campaign of stonewalling and
stalling in an effort to retain those wrongly-confiscated firearms. That
effort continues today, and it is time for the Ray Nagin administration
to end this demagoguery and return those guns, said SAF founder Alan
Gottlieb. SAF was joined in the landmark lawsuit by the National Rifle
Association.

The Most Dangerous City: ...In fact, since Katrina, New Orleans's murder
rate has been higher than that of any First World city. Depending on
fluctuating estimates of the city's returning population, it's perhaps
40% higher than before Katrina and twice as high as the rate in other
dangerous cities like Detroit, Newark and Washington. Families trying to
make a home in this environment live in fear, even while many have taken
to rebuilding their homes with their bare hands.

Open-Carry Battle Continues In Norfolk VA: Members from the Virginia

Bodyguards For Iraqi Judges Denied Guns: Despite death threats and
attempts on their lives, Iraqi judges are not allowed to have armed
bodyguards, a senior U.S. official told the Blotter on ABCNews.com. (If
ABC News can see the folly of denying firearms to these bodyguards, why
can't they see the folly of denying them to average citizens?)

John Longenecker On Campus Carry: ... Instead of consulting police,
administrations need to consult gun owners. (You don't ask servants to
confirm your authority or to answer how much authority you get to have.)
The armed citizen, already in full authority, is a great way to
de-escalate a situation usually without anyone's getting hurt. It
happens this way about 2.5 million times a year, says the FBI. 2.5
million times a year, an armed target or witness stops a crime in
progress, often without discharging the weapon. How many citizens can be
saved by an armed citizen on site, again..? 2.5 million we know of,
anyway. Every year.

Wayne LaPierre vs. Sarah Brady: ...The Brady Campaign has never met a
gun-control law it doesn't like. It has supported every gun ban,
restriction, waiting period, registration or licensing requirement, tax,
fee and condemnation imaginable. It won't even go on the record as
being opposed to a blanket ban on firearm ownership, like the D.C. gun ban.

Again, In Arizona...: An eighth-grader at a Florence school is the
second Arizona student in as many weeks to be suspended for sketching a
weapon at school. And the parents of the newly suspended student feel
his punishment is an overreaction by school officials.
The eighth grader at Florence's Walker Butte K-8 school was suspended
for three days on Friday for sketching a gun during class.
