Fenty's Gun Follies: ...The bottom line is that Mr. Fenty is gambling
resources and political capital on an even shot at protecting an
ineffective policy. A Supreme Court ruling will validate or strike down
laws in places like New York City, Chicago and numerous Chicago suburbs,
but it won't improve life for the mayor's constituents.

New Hampshire Supremes Rule RKBA Can Be Restricted: The state Supreme
Court ruled Wednesday that the state Constitution's right to bear arms
can be restricted and regulated. "As numerous courts in other states
have recognized with respect to their state constitutional right to bear
arms ... the New Hampshire state constitutional right to bear arms 'is
not absolute and may be subject to restriction and regulation'," the
court ruled.

New Jersey Scam: Politicians in New Jersey are once again pushing a
one-gun-a-month scheme. But it's already hard to get one-gun-a-year in
that state! But the fact is, even without this law, if you want to buy a
handgun in New Jersey, you'll have to jump through three to six months'
worth of hoops as it is.

Oops, Wrong House: A suspected burglar was shot during an attempted
break-in at a Tempe home Tuesday afternoon. Two males in their 20s
knocked on the door of a home in the 1500 block of South River Drive,
near Price and Broadway roads, at about 12:30 p.m. There were two people

Let Me See If I've Got This Straight...: Belleville Police Sgt. Jon
Brough is suing the manufacturer of the tactical shield he was carrying
when shot and left blind in a home raid last fall...The shield, of the
type used by riot police, was carried by the officer and protected his
body. He was shot in the face. (My students get taught that, unlike
concealment, cover can be partial and that the parts of your body that
project beyond cover can still be shot.)
