LaPierre Defends NRA Role In NICS Bill: "...This is a bill that's
designed to improve the reporting by states to the NICS system, as well
as provide an opportunity for people to clear their names once they've
completed treatment for an illness, and that's it.  The addition of any
anti-gun provisions will turn this piece of legislation into a poison

enhancement (HR 297) has sent a strong signal to Capitol Hill that this
bill is unacceptable as written. The bad news is that there are some

just so they can say they did something about Virginia Tech...

Swiss Fight To Retain Firearm Tradition: Firearms are a commonly
accepted part of Swiss life, but no one knows exactly how many exist in
Switzerland. Estimates start at about two million - for a population of
7.5 million - but gun-shop owner Gaston Poyet thinks there are many
more...So what about the current gun debate over keeping army guns in
the barracks rather than at home. "It's purely political; it's an excuse
to abolish the militia army," says Lambelet.
