An Interesting Take On Parker Decision: ...What the Cato plaintiffs
asked for was a system somewhat comparable to California law. The relief
sought was narrow because - as pointed out in a Washington Post story -
Cato did not want to get into bed with the National Rifle Association.
Also, an unrestricted individual right would raise any number of
concerns... (emphasis added)

On The Other Hand...: Three more out-of-state gun shops have settled a
lawsuit accusing them of selling too many weapons that later fell into
the hands of New York criminals. The shops, in Marietta, Ga.,
Youngstown, Ohio, and North Myrtle Beach, S.C., were among 27 sued by
the city last year as part of its battle against the firearms industry.

Oops, Wrong House: A Kentucky man was fatally shot when he broke into
the home of another man, in what may have been "some type of jealous
lover situation." The shooter is not expected to be charged with a
crime. The Kentucky General Assembly passed a bill last year that
permits Kentuckians to use deadly force if they believe themselves to be
threatened with death or serious bodily harm inside their homes. Gov.
Ernie Fletcher signed the measure into law on April 21, 2006.

escape outside her apartment window when she saw someone apparently
trying to break in through her window. Of particular interest in the

Advice From Oprah: O, The Oprah Magazine, advises squirting pepper
spray, air freshener or hairspray into the eyes of a burglar, as a last
resort. The introductory quotation about the relatively low rate of
burglaries of occupied dwellings ("hot burglaries") in the US fails to
mention that this is a result of a high rate of firearm ownership in the
US, as compared to Britain, which has a very high rate of hot burglaries.

Unintended Consequences - Not The Novel: This really should have been

the unintended consequences and statistical misinterpretations that may
occur when the government mandates safety regulations.
