What's Missing Here?: The New York Times editorializes against
shall-issue CCW in Florida, confidentiality for CWFL-holders in Florida
and the fact that Florida court policies have allowed about 1,400 people
with "withheld adjudication" for felony offenses to obtain CWFL's. Of
note, the paper seems unable to cite any significant misuse of all those
CWFL's.

Another Pre-Election Conversion: The Republican leading Rudy Giuliani's
New Hampshire campaign said he thinks the 2008 presidential hopeful will
be an "easy sell" - and that the ex-mayor "satisfied" him that he won't
support federal assault-weapons bans, as he has in the past.

Colorado Bill Would Require Local Permits For Colorado Residents:
Coloradans who want to carry concealed handguns could no longer get
mail-order permits from other states under a bill that won initial
approval Monday. The legislation would close a loophole that allows
Coloradans who don't want to work through their local sheriff to get
permits elsewhere, said its sponsor, Sen. John Morse. (I think it would
be more accurate to say that the bill would not allow them to use
out-of-state permits in Colorado, not that they would no longer be able
to obtain them.)

Arizona County Attorney Encourages Armed Employees: NRA article
highlights the policy of Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas of
assisting his employees in obtaining CWP's. (If it's really
Right-to-Carry, why does it require a permit? NRA needs to re-examine
its semantics.)

Oops, Wrong House: Joe Kelley, a 71-year-old Peel AR resident, was
asleep recovering from heart surgery Friday when he woke to sounds at
his front door, according to a Marion County Sheriff's Department
report. Kelley said he found a man in his hallway and shot him with a
12-gauge shotgun, according to the report. (I don't think I'd want to
fire a 12-gauge shotgun while recovering from heart surgery.)
