Pelosi Would Limit Grass-Roots Lobbying: The legislation would make
changes to the legal definition of "grassroots lobbying" and require any
organization that encourages 500 or more members of the general public
to contact their elected representatives to file a report with detailed
information about their organization to the government on a quarterly
basis.

Texas Teen Fights Removal Of Bullet: A Texas teenager is waging a legal
battle to keep from having a bullet surgically remove from the center of
his forehead. Prosecutors believe that the bullet will prove that he
tried to kill the owner of a used-car lot after a robbery in July. The
businessman describes himself as a competitive pistol shooter but that
doesn't seem to have enhanced the bullet's penetration.

Is It Just Me? I have noticed recently that the NRA and its executive
director are using the term "right to carry" as a synonym for licensure
to carry a concealed firearm. How can it truly be a right if it requires
licensure (permission) from the state?

From SAF:
Help the Second Amendment Foundation
Dear Supporter,
I want to make a personal appeal to you to seriously consider making a
tax deductible year-end contribution to the Second Amendment Foundation.
Election year losses last month will mean that in 2007 our gun rights
will be under attack at a level that we have not seen in many years. We
must be financially ready to respond with legal action and hard hitting
pro-gun rights educational projects.
As we review this past year, together we have had some successes and
some disappointments. But, thanks to our loyal supporters like you, we
accomplished many of the goals we set for 2006. Highlights include:
* Going to court to stop gun confiscation in New Orleans after
hurricane Katrina;
* Filing suit against the San Francisco gun ban and winning at the
trail court level;
* Suing libraries that ban viewing of Internet web sites about
firearms and gun rights;
* Working for the successful confirmations of pro-gun rights federal
judges;
* Holding the 21st Annual Gun Rights Policy Conference.
Despite these and many more successes, many challenges remain. We will
now have to work even harder to further pro-gun rights policies under
far-left anti-gun congressional leadership and a media that wants them
to ban and confiscate your firearms.
Yes, we are facing an uphill battle. That is why the Second Amendment
Foundation needs your help now more than ever!
We can overcome the challenges facing us if we stand together in our
commitment to protect our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
As you plan your year-end giving, I hope you will consider supporting
the Second Amendment Foundation at this critical time. You already know
that we rely exclusively on private donations. So, without your generous
tax deductible help, our work on the front lines of the gun rights
battlefield would not be possible.
For the remainder of this year and throughout 2007, the Second Amendment
Foundation is committed to fighting for your gun rights. These efforts
require funds.
Yes, 2007 promises to be a tough year, but just knowing that there are
people like you out there makes it easier for us to continue the battle
for our gun rights.
So, as we close out this year, I hope you will stay with us and consider
making a generous tax deductible year end contribution to the Second
Amendment Foundation.
By contributing now to the Second Amendment Foundation, you can help us
gear up for the coming battles in 2007. The gun grabbers will continue
their unconstitutional attacks...but with your help SAF will be ready
for them.
Thank you and my very best wishes to you and your family for the coming
holidays.
Sincerely yours,
Alan M. Gottlieb
