Jesse Jackson vs. Licensed CCW: In an op-ed piece in an Atlanta paper,
Jesse Jackson complains, " But we've gone further than that. Concealed
weapons laws are passing across the country, from Minnesota to Florida,
giving people the right to pack a concealed weapon if they get a permit.
And in 15 states, that law is reinforced by the "shoot first" law, a law
that states that you needn't think yourself under threat in order to
shoot someone who has entered your house or car without permission."

Rule Five Reminder: Orlando FL police will pay $2,500 for information
that will help find a rifle recently stolen from an officer's patrol
car. The rifle was in a locked mounted rack and it was the only item
taken from the vehicle. (Rule Five: Maintain control of your firearm.
While a locked rack, inside a locked vehicle, would appear to offer
security, display of the rifle seems to have proven too much temptation
for the burglar.)

Shotgun Ballistics Discussed: While the article is focused on hunting
turkeys, it makes some good points about shotgun ballistics. (Unlike
handguns, where "Magnum" generally means higher velocity, in shotguns it
generally means a larger shot charge. Tactical or low-recoil loads are
loaded for lower velocity.)

S&W Recalls Some 460XVR Revolvers: Smith & Wesson Corp. is voluntarily
recalling its Performance Center Model 460XVR revolvers. This recall
applies only to the Performance Center Model 460 and does not involve
Smith & Wesson's standard production Model 460 revolver. (There are a
few list members who might be in a position to use such a gun for
defense against brown bears.)
