Old SOP 9 Figures: Article begins summarizing NYPD gunfight statistics
from 1970-1979, then subtly shifts into a position paper on sighted-fire

More Testimony In "Mistaken Identity" Death: The father of the off-duty
Providence RI police officer, fatally shot as he ran to assist fellow
officers, gun in hand, has testified in the lawsuit brought by the
deceased officer's mother. (I continue to share information on this case
because it is one that I cite to support my argument that it is crucial
to use a holster that allows one-handed reholstering without taking the
eyes from the treat area.)

Gun Cleaning Accident: A police officer from Trinidad & Tobago shot
himself in the thumb while cleaning his pistol. These incident are not
that unusual with Glocks, which generally require pressing the trigger
in order to remove the slide from the frame. (I have a PDF document,
including wound photos, of an incident with a S&W Sigma, which has a
similar take-down procedure - I can mail this individually, on request.)
