Unintended Discharge In State Patrol Office: A senior officer for the
Iowa State Patrol fired a slug out an office window as he finished
cleaning a shotgun. (One problem I have with the most commonly taught
procedure for "cruiser readying" a shotgun is that it involves pressing
the trigger, on the presumption that the chamber is empty. This is not
the first time that this sort of discharge has occurred.)
