Moving Target System: Yesterday I shared a message from John Farnam, in
which he praised the Better Bilt Rotator target. I must be slowing down
with age. I have become very leery of using steel targets because of
potential ricochets but I failed to make the connection that one of the
list members did:

Regarding the moving targets mentioned in this morning's mailing:  I
sometimes practice with a cheap version of an active target.  I use
a wooden stake about 6 feet long and tether inflated penny balloons to
it with a length of string.  For this to work well, there must be some
cross wind.  The balloons move around in an erratic pattern as the wind
blows and can be very difficult to hit.  The difficulty can be adjusted
a bit by varying the size to which the balloons are inflated.  I use it
to practice for hunting and never really thought about the defensive
side of it.  Give it a shot (pardon the pun) and see what you think.

Determination: An 80-year-old Arkansas store owner is back on the job
after having been shot in the chest with a .45 and having killed one of
the robbers with his .38. It sounds like it might not be a bad idea for
him to spend a bit more time on the range although his new 36-year-old
wife may have other plans..
