Lux is a turn-based strategy game that is heavily based on the board
game [Risk][1]. Starting from a map divided into different regions,
the objective of each game is to conquer the whole map and eliminate
all other players. This can be done in single player or up to six
human players can compete online. The game comes with different maps,
containing historical, geometric, geographic, and fantasy settings. It
is also possible to create maps by using the built-in map editor.
(MobyGames)

The game was released in 2002 with v. 1.0. Numerous versions have been
released since then, but it is not clear from the published Change
Logs what versions of Mac OS X are required for each version of the
game. My preference would be to upload only the latest version of the
game that is compatible with each major version of OS X; however I am
unable to do that. So I have bundled every PPC version that I could
find into the archive on this page. You should be able to find a
version that works on your Mac running Leopard or below. The archive
contains versions 1.1, 1.3, 2.1.1, 2.4, 3.32, 3.6, 3.71, 3.93, 4.21,
4.4, 4.6, 5.2, 5.3.1. There are a few pages on the Wayback Machine
that purport to have links to versions for which an inspection of the
About Box for the game reveals a different version. (e.g. there are
pages that supposedly link individually to v. 3.5 and 3.6, but both
downloads from the pages turn out to be v. 3.6. I have removed such
duplicates from the collection here.) Also the version shown by
GetInfo is sometimes different from the version shown in the About
Box. I am assuming that the About Box gives the correct version. For
example v. 4.6 shows as v. 4.52 in GetInfo.

Version 5.3.1 will not work on Mac OS X 10.4.11 but works in OS X
10.5.8 and 10.6.8 (with Rosetta). Higher version numbers coincide with
a name change to Lux Deluxe and code change to Universal Binaries and
eventually Intel-only. Only PPC versions are provided on this page
because Sillysoft currently sells Lux Deluxe for Intel Macs ([Buy
Link][2])
