> The graphics in LEGACY are the most complex and life-like to ever
> appear in an adventure game.

Boasts like this have become meaningless white noise on modern game
packaging, but Legacy's creators meant every word. The Mac's screen
resolution dwarfed its competition in early 1985, and even Mac
adventures like [Transylvania][1], [Enchanted Scepters][2] and [The
Quest][3] didn't come near to Legacy's intricate 511x202 panoramas for
each room.
What makes this even more impressive is that it was a world-class
product published by a group of high school students, one of whom was
inspired to found a company to write Mac-exclusive software after
seeing a 128K in a store. And if the writing tries overly hard to
sound sophisticated, only to stumble into a phrase like "immolation by
fire," well, these kids acquitted themselves a lot better than a
certain A-list novelist did on [Amazon][4].
> Legacy is a two-part text/graphic adventure. A magical orb in Drab
> Castle must be found through the use of spells and careful
> adventuring. Well-constructed, fun to play. $39.95.

Legacy was first advertised in ST.Mac in August 1984, but would not be
completed until January 1985.
Important: If playing on an emulator (or a dual-floppy Mac), insert
the second disk immediately after the first one. Also, be aware that
there are two saved game slots, one on each disk. If you're in the
wrong place: to load the Disk One save, just start a new game and
Resume; to load the Disk Two save, start a new game, head due west
until across the river, and Resume.
