This is a Communications Serial Tool (Extension) which can give comms
enabled applications such as ClarisWorks, access to the [ZMODEM file
transfer protocol][1].
Imaged as (Disk Copy 4.2) disk image file and compressed as a .sit
archive using Stuffit 3.6 for pretty good backwards compatibility.

To enable, drag the ZMODEM Tool's icon over onto the closed icon of
the System Folder and release the mouse. This should bring up a Finder
dialog informing you that this item needs to be placed into the
Extensions Folder (or similar message). Click OK.
You must restart your Macintosh to enable the Extension.
Once rebooted, you can (for example) start up a ClarisWorks
Communications session (See screenshots) and the ZMODEM file transfer
protocol will now be available to ClarisWorks.
