Wait Time is a utility that lets you set the the period of time your
Macintosh waits before searching the SCSI bus for a bootable hard disk
drive. If the wait time is too short, internal drives that take
several seconds to spin up to speed may not be seen on the SCSI bus
(particularly Macs with very fast processors) and hence, won't boot
your Mac. If you wait too long, you may grow old before your Mac
boots, but it won't keep your Mac from booting properly. 15 seconds is
the standard setting. Zero seconds defaults to 15 seconds. The optimal
setting varies depending on the size of the drive, its start-up speed,
and the speed of the CPU.
