These are software compilations made by Apple in the very early
1990's, consisting of software presentations, support, tech info,
system software and utilities. Much of the informational presentations
are made with HyperCard. These CD's were internal distributions and
intended only for Apple Employees who were support providers.

[Top DL]: This is the Apple Technical Information Source CD-ROM version 1.0, dated April 1990.
For a list of the included US & International System Software on this
ROM, view the 5th screenshot above.

Note: All disk images contained in CD 1.0 are in DiskMaker 1.3 format
(included on the ROM). If you don't have the hardware to support using
this software, Disk Copy 6.1 or newer can mount DiskMaker image files
by dragging them over onto Disk Copy's application icon & releasing
the mouse button.

[2nd DL]: Technical Support Information Source Sampler CD-ROM, Apr 1990. - This appears to be a promo disc for the Technical Information Source range and CD-ROM technology in general. While it only contains a subset of the content of the full disc above, it does have its own unique content, including CD Audio tracks of Jean-Louis Gasse and John C. Dvorak discussing this disc. The zip file contains the disc in bin/cue format with some media scans. Thanks to 0ldStaph for sharing this on archive.org.

[3rd DL]: Apple Information Source CD-ROM version 2.1, Oct 1991. - This ROM contains a wealth of information and software, including fully working copies of some of the popular office titles of the period, such as FileMaker Pro 1 & HyperCard 2.1, etc. It also includes Macintosh System Software releases from the earliest and up to SSW 7.0.1, but on this ROM these are only for US systems, the International version releases were not included.

[4th DL]: Apple Information Source CD-ROM version 1.3 July 1990. - This ROM contains a wealth of information and software, including fully working copies of some of the popular third party software titles of the period. It also includes Macintosh System Software releases from the earliest (0.2) and up to SSW 6.0.5, for US systems, with some International version releases included. Diagnostics tools, training are also found on here. Also contains a folder of LISA system software and applications. This CD is labelled "Apple Internal Use Only". The ISO has a System 6 system folder on it, which appears to make this CD bootable under System 6.

[5th DL]: Apple Network & Communications Information Source CD-ROM version 1.3, July 1990. Similar to DL#4 but specific to networking software. Also labelled "Apple Internal Use Only". The ISO has a System 6 system folder on it, which appears to make this CD bootable under System 6.

[6th DL]: Apple Technical Information Source CD-ROM version 3.0; September 1992. Similar to DL#3 but with Apple software from 1992 and prior.

If expanding this .zip file on a classic Mac system, [use MacZip][1]
to ensure a complete extraction. Also, have the [Virtual CD/DVD
Utility][2] installed. The expanded ".iso" is double-clickable to
mount on the desktop, if the utility is also installed & MacZip was
used for the extraction.

Note: All disk images contained in CD 2.1 are in DART 1.5 format
(included on the ROM). If you don't have the hardware to support using
this software, Disk Copy 6.1 or newer can mount DART image files by
dragging them over onto Disk Copy's application icon & releasing the
mouse button.

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k

There were other releases of the Information Source CD's and I would
like to see them archived here. For example: "Apple, Technical
Information Source, Version 3.0. (1992)". Anyone?
