Startup Jingle
A simple little Extension / Control Panel pair that lets you pick from
a selection of sounds to play just before the Desktop loads on your
retro Macintosh. This functionality is almost completely redundant, as
you could just put a System 7 Sound file in your Startup Items folder,
but hey, it was a fun little project.
Example of it in use :

After installing, use the "Startup Jingle Setup" Control Panel to
select your preferred sound. Make sure you remember to click the
"Save" button. You can also user the Control Panel to preview the
sounds by switching between them with the "Preview" checkbox checked.
If you're feeling adventurous, it is possible to add extra sounds by
opening the Extension in ResEdit and adding sound resources. The
sounds will appear in numerical order by their Resource ID, and be
named based on the Resource Name. Avoid duplicate names or you will
get unpredictable behaviour.
Download #1 - Version 0.0.4 - Initial release. Please let me know if
you have any issues - but please be clear in your description and give
enough detail for me to recreate the issue.
Warning - The newer, higher quality sounds don't play correctly in
System 7.1, but older (lower bitrate / mono) sounds work fine.
Compatibility
Architecture: 68k PPC
You'll need at least 1MB free while the sound plays at startup. If you
pick a larger sound, such as the Vista sound, you'll need 2MB.
It will work with System 7.1 or later. I haven't tested with 7.0.x.
