Often your download speeds are far from your theoretical maximums.
Sometimes this is because the Internet is generally clogged up, or
because your ISP is overloaded. But sometimes it's because the server
you are connecting to is only giving a certain amount of bandwidth to
each client.

Speed Download tries to get around this by using up to 32 simultaneous
connections per download. Speed Download is also a general purpose
download client which is AppleScriptable and allows all downloads to
be resumed.

Speed Download is a file download tool. Features include:

 * Multithreading: download as many files as you want, simultaneously
 * Open up to 32 connections per file
 * Support for both FTP and HTTP protocols
 * Support for both HTTP and FTP proxies
 * Resumable downloads
 * AppleScriptable
 * A contextual menu plugin ensures integration with browsers or
   other applications
 * Interrupt driven: Speed Download continues to function even if
   another application (a game for example) hogs the CPU

To install Speed Download CMM, drag it onto your closed system folder
then restart.
Note you will need StuffIt 5.5 or better to expand.
