This was the only commercial product produced by SoftDock. It was
originally written in 1997 as a HyperCard stack on a Macintosh
Performa running System 7.1. The author, Tina Brand, wrote it for
herself, as she wanted to keep a regular journal and there were no
easily obtainable Macintosh journaling software packages available to
her at the time. A year later, she enlisted the help of an application
programmer who assisted her in turning her small HyperCard stack into
a desktop application.
This was available as a free demo on her website (which can still be
seen in WebArchives) at members.aol.com/softdock. Anyone wishing to
purchase the full version could pay via eCheck or send a money order
to her address in Tigerville, SC. She would then eMail the application
directly to the purchaser.
The original purchase price for the full version was $19.00 USD. She
made the software available for free in 2002, and it is available here
for download at no cost.
It would be wise to read the manual before running the program, as it
gives detailed instructions on how to use the Password feature. You do
not have to use any password at all, but if you choose to use a
password, you will need to make sure you write it down or make it
something memorable, as there is no password recovery feature in the
program.
